because Plurk is pretty and colorful!
I've noticed there are a lot more men than wormen on Friendfeed, in the conversations anyway.
There are just as many women on Twitter though I think. Maybe it's the kind of conversations you have
scobleizer, not sure.
conversational yet personal, I find plurk
Don't ask why just go with it.
The conversation is a lot less fromal here, that's for sure.
Plurk makes you look skinny.
because the knitting community (we're a powerful blogging force, too) have embraced Plurk.
i'm not a knitter but i agree with
jena. they are all over plurk. i'm amazed at their numbers.
thanks for the link,
theob
Dunno, following ya in all three places
plurk is interactive. And shiny. I have noticed that FF in particular seems very male (although I am there, too)
did you notice how scoble starts a plurk and does not participate?
good question. I'm here because the interactions I have on plurk seem to have more value than a scrolling scream of tweets...
is that a bad thing, Robert?
because you are more adorable on plurk
plurk is much more pretty than friendfeed. weird that it matters, but I think that's one reason. and little emoticons.
Not sure how many "women" there are but there sure are a lot of people using female names...
a working set of ovaries & prefers an interface that WORKS, ability to follow conversations & back track (that working part) of Plurk.
Plurk has
he is still not participating...
that's right. Can't live without the dancing banana!
Plurk = potassium and we're all needing some extra, hence the banana situation
hopes
scobleizer has the patience 2 read and respond to plurks (incl his own) cuz that's how to build your community and have a GREAT time!
Plurk is more of a women's platform than Twitter. It's more interactive and thus has deeper conversations.
They like the pretty colors, avatars, and timeline.
way to go with the stereotypes! A woman here who isn't particularly impressed by 'pretty colour' and hates the timeline.
Rogue Tess he is not participating cuz he does not like plurk - remember plurk is conversation not announcements
and he certainly does not need to build community he already has his following, are we not continuing this conversation without him
to know if someone really plurked that women can't ressit
*the dancing banana*?
This is the stupidest, sexist conversation I've seen in social media to date. The jokes don't strike me as funny.
It's fine to observe the demographics, but it isn't ok to joke like this. Replace the comments to be making fun of a race; see how bad it is
lindaz you know how a dog pees all around when you're walking him? He's just simply marking his territory. Dogs don't care so much about
disagrees with the *dog pee* analogy. *dog pee* is a conversation.
some was sexist, but I laughed at the dancing banana joke!
LindaZ
I guess it's OUR community. I like the "not announcements" observation! I attend to the plurks:ann ratio when adding friends.
I'm gonna mute this thread now. Why build up
scobleizer's karma????
Especially not for this idiocy.
does muting people lower their Karma?
after the first ten mutes in a day, it seems to
because the default is set to female
Because us women like the karma thing
Just read - target audience is women so they are doing a good idea reaching us. Of interest....I joined because I got....
a notification from
indenti.ca that another woman wanted to friend me here. Is that how they do it?
aye, beauties be plentiful in thee plurk lands. Why thee be pointing at me Scobleizer?
the answer is: because Plurk is more EMOTIONAL ....
Plurk encourages people to post thoughts and feelings. Why would a woman not love a service like this.
besides, all people talk about on Friendfeed is Friendfeed. You're going to bore a woman and a lot of men real quick with endless bantor.
I actually prefer FriendFeed to Plurk so far, and I'm not sure it's divided by gender. I have about equal female and male friends on both.
I'll add that the conversation on Plurk seems a little bit less techie than FriendFeed, but I just got on Plurk.
maybe thats why i like it on here
good question.
because I'd rather be a plurkette than a tweetette.
What makes you sure they are REALLY women?
are u sure with what u think??
shouldnt complain about that
*hihihi*. don't u love it??
I've friended you here, too, Robert. I think you still have to friend me back.

Maybe Plurk has more women overall? I'm not sure of stats.
My female friends prefer Plurk to FF or Twitter. There's something about the emoticons and backgrounds that appeals to them
it's probably due to Plurk being a much better platform in all ways, and because you're such a manly stud.
because your hot!!!!! I love you plurkmale
because it´s much more conversational than twitter and not so "ego-centered"
yeah. the studmuffin part.
Because we're smart and you're a babe, Bob!
to know if you still think plurk is only going to be popular with 14-year-old girls (per a june post she just read via a blog).
haha. we need some sparklies too, for added effect.
can't believe this Plurk from 4th of July is still getting comments a month and a half later!
I don't know, you charismatic devil!
maybe people Are relizeing that your on here now i think that a good answer
because it's fun, fast, organized, easy, wonderful ... and full of other brilliant company
It's actual conversation and i don't have to jump all over the place to follow a thread. ... i really love that.
plurk is natural plurk is fun plurk is best ...
