sunruh Floridians FLEE Florida in summer and visitors run to Florida! I'm always shocked when I am reminded that

summer is the tourist season here. It is my least favorite time.

BUT there are some great things to do any time of the year and everyone is hot and sweaty so it's ok.

holaolah we have friends from Germany that got a house the last week in July in Cape Coral. We've always headed to the mountains in summer!

any suggestions on what we should do around Ft. Meyers/Cape Coral?

Beach, beach, maybe fishing, and more beach!

I don't know that coast very well but Tampa is nice too. There is the Salvador Dali museum there. Not for everyone but it is interesting.

I'm embarrassed to say I've never been to the Keys. Hear is it a must do. And of course the Everglades. Although it would be REALLY hot!

colemama I've been in FL for 6 years and still can't get used to the fact that I have to do the outdoor stuff in winter!

I am a big baby with the heat.

Better unpack my sweaters, black sweats and add the bug spray, t-shirts and tanktops. I'm freezing in IA & can't wait for heat!

vanhookc no matter how cold it is there or how much you are tempted DO NOT BRING A SWEATER OR JACKET! it won't leave your suitcase.

no gators in the gulf but could take you to freshwater lake or river with gators. If you want to see them.
