ads, and no one gets back to us. We each had 1 person respond to our email, but then they didnt respond to anything after that.
craigslist is pretty good. . . for wasting your time.
I have had mixed results from craigslist, also
my husband listed some tools there, and got a few calls, but no one ever showed up!
ugh - your apartment hunting too? good luck with that...
seems like a lot of us are! We are house hunting too
small world! That's funny what you said about your hubs tools, spirit. I could go on about craigslist - you guys should see the last ad
I posted there.
I used to post there a lot to get contracting work. Some of what I got from there was decent, most of it was cheapskates that I was lucky
to not get their work. After a few years, and a declining economy, I posted a long message to the customers & contractors about how we
should all concern ourselves with quality. To be aware of the problems with paying undocumented workers low wages, and how "we" should all
work together, rather than cannibalizing ourselves.
I'm sure it went over like a lead balloon.
lol. but you at least expressed yourself! I know what you mean -
hubby is/was an independent contractor too - but biz got so bad, he has gone back to working for someone else.
he also found some people only wanted to go with the cheapest price
they came back to him to fix what the cheaper contractor messed up.
oh I know ALL about that. That was in my email, too. I got sick of like 5 major projects in a row where everyone lost, including me, all
b/c these dumbass investors and GCs think they can get something for nothing. Then they don't have the money to fix the problems right=more
I got burned big time more than a couple times last year. Sick of trying to work for these people, they don't take pride in what they do.
yes - that seems to be the case more and more lately. A shame that people don't care about being of service anymore
yeah, these investors and GCs, they try and make a bunch of money, and leave a poorly buily house in a neighborhood *other* people have to
a house *other* people have to live IN.
wow. i just don't get it. sucks a lot b/c i love carpentry and construction and tile and paint and all of it
yes. sorry you have been burnt. it's not easy.

we were a few times too - we lost everything.. but we have a new start!
anyway, it will all work out - perhaps it's the "universe" telling us we needed to make a change - for you too ?
sorry - do I sound like a "pollyanna"? Do you even know what that is? LOL. Showing my age here
No spirit, I agree 100% about making the change. It's a big reason I am comfortable being stay-at-home dad. This occupation is hard on
egos, especially my wife's. Mine, too. But it will be worth it.
