I wrote this as a bit of a puzzle but I did such a good job that I cannot locate the keys myself! which, oddly, makes me happy.

I think what it is is the combination of words actually sounds like it could be another phrase.

"howl lung canister ritz hike hornets rest eats gnarled posits riven pasttime" sounds like How long can it stir it's (...) it snarled poses
