it is interesting that most plurks attract several comments where as that doesn't happen or on any other social network I can think of.

the fact that that comments retain context - i.e. they are displayed alongside the original plurk, is a major factor.

yes, I guess so. There are still a lot of conversations that happen over an extended period of time though

yea, it's what attracted me to plurk - it is way easier to talk/chat, without being too demanding (easy to step in/out of stream).

plurk did a couple things really well, the rest... eh. But it's those couple things that have kept me around.
