You are right, I won't let my son watch any of them not on Disney, Noggin, or PBS. Some are inappropriate and other are just plan bad.

many Japanese anime looking things like Dino Squad. Bad animation, bad plot, bad everything.

the whole culture is different - Saturday morning is no big deal now b/c cartoons are on every day (all day on some stations!).

even with all the other cartoons out there, my 10 yo's fave is Tom & Jerry (although it's pretty violent looking back at it!)

yes, you can find Flintstones, Jetsons, etc.. on Boomerang. My daughters sometime watch Boomerang.
