decided that 64 bit vista SUCKS. Everything is too buggy even for me. 32 bit runs decently though, and I can't wait for Win 7!

prolly 32

yeah - you pretty much have to ask specifically for it to get it. both the intel and amd chips can support both 32 and 64 bit which is nice

it used to be that if you had a 64 bit system you had to have only 64 bit software

whats the difference? i know nothing about this stuff

it's the way the cpu addresses things - very simply put. 32 bit can process 1 and 0s in chunks of 32, 64 bit in chunks of 64.

64 bit allows for way more ram too - i used to know why, but 32 bit cant support above like 3-4 gigs. i cant recall if it's software

or hardware limitations - i imagine hardware though.

so yeah, the biggest advantage is access to more usable memory, the drawback is that 64 bit is procesing..64 bits - bigger chunks of code

for even some of the more simple code too, so things can get bloated quickly.

i'm finding a lot of my programs going nuts in their memory use right now which is fairly consistent with that.

also running into some issues with 32 bit programs not writing to the registry correctly causing some issues.
