he apoligized but more like he was sorry I'm mad not sorry he hurt my feelings.

What do you need to feel better? Think about it - then ask for that.

For me, sometimes, it's just the acknowledgement that my feelings were hurt

In my experience, men get flooded by emotions - happens in about 5 sec. Research shows it's less than that. My guess

that he trying to communicate in some way but doesn't know how. Some times we have to teach them - I need you to say: "..."

Sounds like a guy. You must explain to him why it hurt your feelings w/out pointing fingers...

Phrases like "I feel..." - try not to lay blame...guys get their backs up when they think you're blaming them. Probably just doesn't get it.

we had it out last night and I discovered the issue

he has a lot of crap going on at work so getting to the bottom of this at home wasn't really a priority

But I explained it and he apologized in a very satisfactory way
