"Ordinal Malaprop has not created any content yet". Oh yes?
Heh. It means you haven't made any posts on the blog.
it is pretty much the same as
mine. I actually know one of the "Similar People" it shows.
I am on there TWICE!!! The other one with the last name not capitalised? Excuse me? I AM able to type my name properly!
it is based on the new blog format. SL is becoming "Social Media"
This is old news -- it's just part of the blog software they are using.
The "edit profile" page seems to be broken, and it is appearing on Google as well.
Actually that was how I found out about it, I saw a Google Alert. (I am vain enough to have one for my name.)
they haven't fully implemented the available features. Or is that lack a feature in itself?
I'm a bit worried about me being there twice-someone trying to impersonate me?
Residents who have posted comments on the blog will appear to have an account, as a side effect of how the software works.
Well, that might be what it is intended for, but it is not all that it does. I appear to have grown yet another damn profile.
And not even one that I can edit, on this occasion.
Right. Well, I'll leave you all to your angst and speculation about LL's intent with something that's just a quirky side effect.
Actually it doesn't work at all for that purpose either; it doesn't even list the few replies I have made.
My two profiles are empty, too?
Most anyone's profile is going to be mostly empty unless you're a Linden. You do get points for comments though& you can give yourself tags
SL is turning into Facebook and MySpace's secret child.
ya, I said that when the introduced the 'dashboard' thinger
however the stupid edit profile page won't give me the upload image interface, look like an f'n 5 yr old noob!
To be honest I have decided they may not even know it exists. I do not like suddenly finding unchangeable profiles of myself via google tho.
I find it interesting that it's pulled tags for me already, 1/2 of which are currently relevant. Some date to 2005 and earlier really. lol
I found this when it was just up and tried to do something with it. It is totally non functional. Maybe a dream for the future.....
like a stable, scalable grid?
sighs and wonders how she has to phrase her point to quell the needless drama.
LL installed this blog software. The blog software has a user profiles feature. This feature list blog posts the user has made.
The fact that we have profiles too is a side effect of the way they hooked it up to make so that you must have an SL account to comment.
There is no greater significance to this feature. It has nothing to do with the dashboard or social networking.
It doesn't represent any policy or plans by LL. It's just a feature of the software they installed, that isn't worth the trouble to disable.
still wondering how she ended up with TWO of these profiles...
Alyx: Probably you (or someone using your name) posted a comment with your last name uncapitalized, sometime in the past 5+ years.
