Good rebuttle! but this health care reform thing in the US is quite heated.
yeahhh, it's bringing out all the morons. "death camps!" "nazis" "CANADA!"
I read up on why its so polarized! They dont want don't want the gov to contol and admisister the health. why not? it would help
a LOT of it is being exaggerated in terrible ways
the gov is proposing universal health INSURANCE.
nothing at all. the canadian health rep said it best - it's not right to penalize those who need health care the most for not having ins.
It gives people a chance to be coverd. from rich to poor
the problem is that our healthcare costs rose as quickly as our housing costs if not faster
so cost of service is in no way proportional to income
thing is - people can choose not to buy houses. people CANT choose to not receive health care.
so nothing drives the prices down. we're by the balls by the insurance companies and they're in the pocket with the doctors.
Oh so thats what it boils down too
what gov is saying is not eliminating current insurance - but creating a public insurance policy to force non gov ins companies to compete
now the details on how THAT works is a bit complicated. but it's not suggesting death squads or anything of the sort. those comments are
concerned with "end of life couciling". basically when you're diagnosed with a terminal ailment - insurance covers your meetings with a
doctor to discuss your concerns and decisions about how you'll be handled
this works a lot like a "living will" only you have a doctor there to help you make informed decisions.
THAT is hardly a death squad. that's providing a service that current insurance ALREADY covers.
I dont see anything bad about this reform
it can be amazing if done properly. it can be disasterous to the economy if they arent careful though.
insurance companies employ people too - we dont want to put them out of business- but we want them to slim down their profit margins
"price realization" not a "recession"
the insurance companies have the monopoly on healh care in the states
pretty much. they can mandate their own prices.
