All this backup work I've been working on getting established on this server (because the existing set up was actually FAILING)

and some data I got rid of to make one of the RAIDs was apparently for some other group outside of this location - wtf, that server isn't

even theirs nor should even be accessible to them! >< STUPID.

the last change to any of those files was actually months ago - so whatever. Bad move on my part for not taking a snapshot of the machine

before I did the overhaul. Funny though- the world I did enabled me to be able to actually take that snapshot now, go figure.

SO frustrating. I'd love to help them but I'm not getting paid to manage their data too nor was that equipment purchased with their funds.

Wow thats major, are you able to get the stuff back on again?

eh, running recovery software on the disks to see what i can find but eh...im not optimistic

they'll survive though - it wasn't like major financial data.
