I am only adding people I know well on Twitter.
LenEdgerly

How many of 711 you follow on Twitter do you know well enough to add here?
Connie

probably fewer than 200 - knowing them "well" means I've had regular conversations w/ them & know who they are w/out hvg to look at profile

Makes sense. So you may use Plurk to weed Twitter stream to more manageable number?
LenEdgerly

I see logic, but I also find that by following freely, new voices attract my attention & sometimes become important to me on Twitter.

Exactly what I'm thinking. Even when it's stable, Twitter has gotten over loaded for me. Unfollowed about 40 ppl on Twitter today.

I keep Twitter manageable by only following a few via phone. Rest only online.

I know - that's why I quit adding back followers on Twitter long ago -- want to cut more deadweight out of that list to make room for new

I get all @ replies sent to my phone via Twitter's SMS tracking (not working at the moment)

It's worked for me to be relatively open, then weed periodically. Have met many interesting folks I'd never otherwise "known."

agreed. I leave it open and close only when necessary. I just did a big weedout on Twitter... in between the crashes.

I have to say this thread already shows Plurk can offer something Twitter can't.

I track my @ replies on a Safari page on iPhone using iTweet - I have that page as icon on home page of iPhone.

the instant feedback is what will make this compelling. This is the sort of thing that could make this more addictive than Twitter.

amazed that you can view the entire Plurk conversation on a single page.
