found them in paper bag in kitchen and was under the impression they had recently been purchased. Thes need more than tupperware

do well with a little heating in the oven, and then being allowed to cool in a nice dry space.

tried the microwave. After two zaps of 30seconds and half an hour to cool the cookie was crunchy (hard) ish, but otherwise unpleasant

is right, and the oven is the way to go. The microwave doesn't produce the same effect at all.
