are you surprised from the same mayor who tore up an airport in the middle of the night?
skraggy says

although that's still not bad... these are delinquent tickets.. i.e., tickets that you chose not to pay.
skraggy says
currently you are already bootable after 3.

and I'm a person who once racked up $5,000 in parking fines before getting booted once. :-o

that airport was on his hit list since he went in office and Miegs was on a year to year lease at the time, the city choose not to renew it.

hey according to the government driving is a privilege not a right. (g_thinking)
Madame Maracas

that change is a bit extreme I do agree
if the slight increase in tickets this year paid in full for the new vans with license plate readers? (g_thinking)
Eric Odom says

skraggy it is entirely possible that you do not even know you have tickets for a month
Eric Odom says
for example... they blow off the car, you ride CTA and never use the vehicle, out of town, etc
Eric Odom says
EVERYONE is Chicago has had two tickets for one reason or another
skraggy says
true, but if you have proper registration, I always got notices in the mail shortly after tickets on my window.
Eric Odom says

If you don't think the government is extreme for potentially locking down your life over two parking tickets...
Eric Odom says

the founding fathers would turn in their graves if they knew what the city of Chicago does
Eric Odom says

"for the people" my ass
Eric Odom says
and if you don't get the notices? boot.
skraggy says
true. I thought 3 tickets was extreme from the something like 7, but 3 to 2 seems less extreme.
skraggy says
but yes, I'll concede it's rather aggressive of the city. :-)
ljarratt says

glad I don't live in the city. I don't drive downtown unless necessary as well.
Eric Odom says
Plus, you have to ask permission to park in the city, and even PAY $75.00 for the "privilege"
Eric Odom says
Per year!
skraggy says
eric, uh...yea... always had a problem with that... hence the $5k fines. oops.
disneyr says

Chicago would be a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. :-D
Eric Odom says

disneyr it is outrageous!
disneyr says

that is why I left California too. Not quite as bad as Chicago but getting there. San Fran is about as bad.
jack_of_knaves says

That's why you ride a bike!
Eric Odom says
they start taxing bikes soon too
ljarratt says
they don't want a viable candidate. Both parties like it the way it is for the most part...

Daley and Chicago have been out of control LONG ago!
