it may be a few years.. every adoptee is different. I was 35 before I got interested in looking for my birth family & was mostly interested

in siblings...

(found 3 sisters & a brother.. one of my younger sisters was also given up for adoption)

I decided to look for my real father at 35 as well. Found him doing an internet search of the local phone directories. 30 ppl with the same

name in the area and I picked the right # the first try. Spent a lot of time with him and his wife the first year and now I never talk to

them

JustJen I'd LIKE to get in touch with my birth father, but my birthmother either doesn't remember details

about what his name is or doesn't want me to contact him... I have 3 sisters & a brother & MAYYYBE the 2 oldest (bro & sis) have the same

father, we don't know...she was big on "partying" when she was young...

it is a great thing to keep in touch with the parents. we have done that with all our children and it has been a very positive experience

that is fantastic! Eventually he WILL want to know you if for no other reason than to ask questions. I know you'll do great!
