My 4yo HITS me all the time! And it HURTS! And he spits, too. I've used hot sauce before, but he doens't seem to care.

Punishments don't work. Spankings don't work. I am at the end of my rope.

that's the problem, I haven't been on top of it. I do use time outs and I do ground, take away that which they crave/want the most!!

I don't have children so am probably talking out of my ass but can you talk to a 4 year old to find out why they're so angry with you?

at times the only way is to ignore hold the child and tell him you love him and say how upset and sad his behaviour makes you-use tears

children like to please and don't like to see parents upset, having said that my youngest grandson took great delight in winding me up

He does get all mushy if I cry...talking to him just doesn't do anything. He hold his ears and says,"I.m not listening! lalalalal."

I may have to turn on the tears.
