that is an emotional plea. I am convinced.
*pats f00li5h on the head*
emo bitches. crush them with your mighty paws.
's paws are quite mighty ...
dhoss makes a good point, on the topifc of crushing
casts level 4 rational argument
emotional pleas are to be empathized with, but not necessarily agreed to. (You know, respond to emotion with something that acknowledges
that emotion). Sad, though, that you did not escape unscathed from the encounter.
does not empathise very well... it's pesky, and yet helpful...
be convinced by a good argument, and will not even be slowed by a "you hurt my feelings" argument
means to say that the world is cruel and unfair... (fallout reference that I can't find a cite for -_-)
I'm sure you will eventually find those few very effective empathizing statements/responses. They are, as you said, helpful, and can make
those counter-arguments more efficient (because they can neutralize bad feelings)
does not think that how you feel about the truth matters ... you lie on a road you'll get run over, no matter how much you like the idea
people would listen to him in the tone he speaks in ...
I hear your frustration

although, I must point out one's emotional state may not keep you from getting run over, but it may affect your
chances of recovery in the event you do survive.
<--does not wish to be argumentative. Merely trying to point out that the emotional and the subjective still has an effect no matter how
pesky it is to deal with
unfortunately pesky
deterministic computing machines for these reasons
no feelings to get in the way of the truth, only time and space
our emotional/subjective aspects are a factual part of our human condition in this stage of our existence.
and is therefore part of some greater "truth" about us.
knows
CaliCat makes a good point ... but really can't figure out how to modify his algo to make it help
as long as it's only your algorithm that you're thinking of modifying and not who you are
interfacing with the high-emotionality/low-rationality types is difficult. All arguments have to be rewritten in a new language--one that's
mostly made up of tone of voice, facial expression & body language. Actual words seem to have less importance.
it's tedious if it's not your preferred language. But like any foreign language, one can choose to learn just enough for one's purposes
, aparently, always sounds angry, and always has hostile body langauge ... people don't see passion, they see rage ... that's unhelpful
a peaceful cat, but a passionate one!
