if a tree falls, and it isn't Plurked, Blogged or Live streamed... does it make a sound?

What on earth does Karma have to do with de-forestation? Oh yeah....
the TIRED guy says

It made a sound retroactively, once I posted my podcast.

In Cyberspace no one can hear you scream. (Unless you use Jott.)

kshelton wonders

if the tree was pinged, podcasted, or spammed?
vdub144 says

Did you do a technorati search for the tree falling? Just because you don't know of the Plurk, blog or stream, doesn't mean someone didn't.
Luke says
but it's probably archived somewhere so it's like it never really fell!
kshelton says
and if you use the wayback machine we can bring the tree back to its' original state

But only after 6 months - you have to wait for the copyright, err. statute of limitations to run out on the particular felled tree...

I seem to want to break out in the Monty Python- I'm a lumberjack THE BEST VERSION by Eric Idle for some reason? I'm a Lumberjack, and I'm OK!
the TIRED guy says

that would depend on who owns the property and how old the tree is. The tree's image could very well be public domain.
techiethomas says
Yes it does because it isn't Plurked, Blogged or Live streamed.
megbg says

is it copyrighted??
rorowe says

the tree might not be in our network. (btw, lol, this is hilarious)
the TIRED guy asks
But even if it is Web 2.0'ed, will it get past our school firewalls?
cleisure says
If the firewall blocks it, it is because no one at school needs to know it might exist or aid in education.
kimcaise says
was it streamed or broadcast? maybe caught on live cam?
vdub144 says
It will languish in obscurity for a few weeks until a Rock Star picks it up and retweets it on Twitter, claiming they made said tree fall.
the TIRED guy says
won't work, vdub144 - if my little contests show anything, it's that less than 6 out of every 100+ followers will even see it. Maybe.
