yeah i think that's when she started to feel more 'awake' and started to change.

I noticed that too- like on the way to the beach she leans on her husband, but after she learns to swim she just rests on Robert's arm.

Yeah I also noticed that. She definitely became more independent and outspoken.

i agree that her swimming alone opened up her mind to change and become self empowered, especially in a romantic sense

I think her swimming helped her to realize there are more 'fish in the sea' than just her husband- haha
