Apparently, students from the previous batch were given resumé templates by the Mapúa administration.
If this is true, then we should either wait until Saturday or ask students from previous batches to give us copies of the template.
arazel: We'll have to wait until Saturday to find out.
tsala: Got it. Thank you, Sarah.
tsala: ikaw tsala may nakuha ka na ba resume format?
arazel: May meeting sa Saturday about OJT.
where you going to apply for your OJT?
autumnsong: We are considering a few companies like Accenture and Proctor & Gamble. Any suggestions, Ate Daal?
ahh okie2 di nmn kme pde jn ee
Accenture's OJT (or AEP as we call it) program is very good. You could try at Canon, HP, and Trend Micro (not that sure about this).
Or at IBM (not that sure about this either).
You could try to go to Tektike Tower (Philippine Stock Exchange in Ortigas) and apply at Chikka or Azeus.
if you're very dedicated and don't mind really difficult work (and if you're very smart), I'd recommend Azeus.
Because if you do well during the OJT, they're going to wait for you to graduate and get you to work for them after graduation.
So you're sure to have a job after.
I think HP's the same (the office is somewhere in Makati, I can't remember where exactly).
Canon, Trend Micro, and IBM are all found at Eastwood.
If you're going to Makati, you can also try to go to Navitaire. I'm not sure about their OJT program but a former teacher said it was ok.
Btw, if you're going to Accenture, you can try to apply at Robinsons Pioneer. I think their main office is in Gateway (Cubao).
But they might've moved so try to call them first or something.
I think you can also try at Smart and Globe but I'm not sure where the Smart office is though.
I remember correctly, the Globe office is beside Legend Hotel (near Robinsons Pioneer).
Hope that helps.
marami ako nrinig na positive feedbcks w/ azeus
waw ate..nkakanelighten naman ang mga sinabi mo.

xalamat sa info
arazel: Hi. Nice to meet you.

I'm glad to help fellow CS/IT people. I had fun with my OJT and I'd love for everyone to enjoy it too.

kaya pala..tnx ulet
about Azeus, as far as companies go, they are really good. And OJT wise, they give the biggest salary. Around P400-P500 a day I think.
the only problem with Azeus is that their qualifying exams and interview are very difficult And lots of people say that the work's toxic.
but if you don't have a problem with that, then I say go for it. I think Azeus is a good stepping stone in advancing your career in CS/IT.
arazel: It's no problem.

I hope you guys get to go to fun companies and that you'll enjoy your OJTs.
kahit po ba hndi masyadong into programming..tumatanggap cla?..sa database kc ung specialization q..
pero marunong ka naman mag-program db?
nakalagay naman din kasi sa curriculum vitae mo kung ano ung mga skills mo so they'll know kung ano ung pwede nilang ipagawa sayo...
arazel: if you want to work with DBs, I think you can try to apply in the IT department of medical centers, like hospitals, for your OJT.
arazel: just ask your OJT adviser if they allow that. Some of my batchmates applied in Friendly Hills Medical which is in QC I think.
arazel: you can try to research about the company. I know though that they take in interns (OJT applicants) so you can try there.
ohh..

okie po

hehehe thanks!
how bout..part tym jobs?.. bka may lam k dn po hehe.kc hndi pako mkakapag-ojt this term..
kung part time job, I think you can try sa IT department ng mga medical centers (like hospitals) or maybe hotels. I'm not sure though.
well, tanong mo lang naman if they're accepting then try mo mag-apply.
or try mo mag-barista sa Starbucks.
haha... joke lang un...
haha... joke lang un...
for real though, I think you can also try sa IT ng mga magazine publishers like Summit media? Or try mo na rin magtanong sa Smart or Globe.
autumnsong: Actually, Raz was considering that option, Ate Daal. Malaki raw kasi yung sweldo sa Starbucks compared sa iba.
you can also visit the company's site (Careers part of their website) and check mo muna dun if they accept part-time applicants.
onlinesynth: and nothing probably beats the perks, like discounted (or maybe free, can't remember) drinks.
onlinesynth: plus you get to pick your schedule, and I think you also get to pick where you're going to serve.
onlinesynth: and I think you get paid even while undergoing training which rocks.
onlinesynth: Haha... I've been wanting to apply for a part-time barista in Starbucks but have never gotten the time to apply.
wow.. hehe thanks

i really hope na sna may tumanggap saking branch ng starbucks hhe
this wed, i plan to go to various branches..pra mkpgapply hehe
you can get an application form from a any Starbucks branch then you email it to their career center's email.
when they interview you or while undergoing training, they ask you about the particulars of where you want to serve and the time.
all the training is done in Makati though I think. Not sure. It was an HS friend of mine who applied and she just told us how it worked.
ahhh great

hehe thanks
