All of the kids have a half day today except the 33 yo "child", who has the day off of work and drove me nuts until I finally convinced him

to go back to bed. Since we're all here today and Kev works all weekend I decided to have a Sunday style dinner tonight.

Roast, real mashed potatoes, the last of the beans from the garden, etc. Unfortunately I worked last night and am having a bit of a brain

fog day. In the past two hours I've managed to:

-break my potato peeler

-tip over the trash can (I was mad but boy did the dog get excited!)

-put the roast in the oven (go me!)

-forget to turn the oven on (or not...)

At this point I decided that things would look better from the other side of some caffeine. I then proceeded to:

-fill the coffee machine with the wrong type of coffee. I used the coffee that is ground powder fine for the elderly espresso machine that

only works when it feels like it. It usually decides it doesn't feel like in in the middle of a brew.

-overflow the machine all over the counter and floor because the powder fine grounds clogged the filter

-panic and grabbed the first towel in the drawer to mop up the mess, which happened to be my prettiest hand towel.

It'll look good dyed black, right?

-burn my chesticle area on the coffee pot burner while tipping it to the side to clean the grounds out of the filter basket

and THEN I remembered that the filter basket is *removable*

I decided to hide in the living room before I do any more damage. Maybe my son will take pity on me and make me some tea when he gets home.

I'd make it but I don't think our insurance will cover the damages.
