FF13VS, Borderlands, Rockband, Tekken (had to say this for SOME people XD) = worth getting PS3 =)) Those are the only games ya need tbh XD

it's not that the'yre dropping off. It's just that their tried and tested formula isn't selling as much as it used to back in the 90s.

the regular Japan formula appeals to us, because we were there during the Japan/PSX golden age.

but the industry's market has grown a lot larger since then. A majority of the new audience has a different taste.

and honestly, it's a good taste too.

the difference is that Japan values original gameplay ideas. The west emphasizes using better tech to create more immersive experiences.

problem with Squeenix is that it they aren't original anymore. They're taking their old gameplay and trying to make it more immersive.

but fundamentally, using MENUS ingame breaks immersion. This alienates the western audience (more than having a couple that looks 28 and 11)

they should learn from Capcom. Capcom is doing great with taking their old franchises and packaging them for the west. See RE4 and 5 and SF4
