is it recyclable in other countires?
you and me both. note to self, to look up the nearest facility that takes numbers 3-6 of recyclables and stock pile, then visit once a
month or every couple months
i just hate how it's recyclable but we can't even recycle it. wtf is the point?
"People should not be buying plastic bottles when it can be avoided. Specifically stop buying soda in those 20-oz bottles.
Buy soda in cans. Nearly all of the aluminum in a soda can is recycled and back on the shelf as a new soda can in about 60 days."
reading comments on this one page:
"It just baffles me why we even allow such toxic substances. If plastics, styrofoams, etc. barely or never disintegrate,
why do we even allow companies to make them? Will we ever ban them and go back to glass or other substances?"
and if we're feeling extra lazy we can mail our plastics off, lol
wicked! will check into later.. busy designing a pirate ship

but this is good progress! i want to look into it more
well you've/we've been wanting to check out that store anyway
"The EPA estimates that 75 percent of our waste is recyclable. However, the current national is about 33 percent. "
I'd believe that. Once I started recycling I didnt have to take the trash out but once every 2-3 months.
yeah and a SHITLOAD of our trash is recyclable but the town just dones't take it
styrofoam, plastic wrapping papers, containers, the works..
even if we count just #1,#2 plastics, paper, glass, soup cans, and aluminum cans that's still a HUGE percentage
ideally we should have NO trash whatsoever. working towards just not buying ANYthing unless it comes in a recyclable container or box
what i hate are plastic-foil ish wrappers INSIDE cardboard boxes
tons of fuckers are like my grandparents and parents. it's fucking gross.
things like.. cheesy shells cheese packets, the top plastic seal on microwaveable goods, etc..
where recycling is offered - even ultra convenient and comes to their fucking house on trash day to get it from a bin provided for free...
the foil you peel back when opening a new juice bottle or ketchup bottle, things like that
ugh let's just.. start on ourselves and work on other people later.. i hate to say but it would take some disaster to get them to switch
like.. paying $1000 per garbage bag. THAT will wake people the fuck up
and PAYING people to return recycling. here, free groceries if you bring back your cans!
the whole thing infuriates me beyond all belief. it's NOT THAT HARD. gee thanks parents for shitting on the planet I'm going to have to live
with for the next 60 years
NO ONE can claim to love and care for their future generations if they don't recycle. period.
or reduce. or reuse. whatever. just think fucking sustainably, it's not that hard to take an extra minute out of your day to toss something
I think every kid needs a field trip to the dump at an early age. every year. as a reminder. this is where your shit goes.
nothing hit home more to me than when i saw a documentary on landfills when i was about 6-8 years old.
my first thought was "how long until that thing reaches my house?"
and of course it would be a long time, but my concept of space then was skewed (i also thought there were only 1000 people in the world)
but i think everyone needs to think that way when it comes to this. the 'fuck it' mentality will kill us eventually
we recycle everything we can... and it pays us back pretty well... one car load is about 50 bucks...
but yeah... the things that aren't recyclable we try to completely avoid
we buy most things cardboard/glass/aluminum
