i don't think the u.s really cares at this time cuz the ewlls only come to school the first day and than stop coming
she thinks that the u.s. isn't trying as hard as they could be with education and that the children have a right to a good education because
they are our nation's future and the vicious cycle of bad education leading to a bad future for our nation like the ewells
that the schools dont let kids read or write and they dont let aferican americans in school yet.
her tone is that kids have the choice to go to school or not and this is presented by the ewells because they only go to school the first
Her tone is that the u.s kind of really doesnt care if someone goes to school like Burris and they dont want you learning outside of school
she shows that us did not care if students go to school and did not want you to learn anywhere else.
if someone doesnt want to go to school then they dont have to
also that students should be learning to read/write in school and not at home
it is a lot more strict with punishments. for example hitting the children. also they think that the way the school teaches is right.
and any other way is wrong.
it seems that education it not one of Lees top prioritys in the us at this time. probably because of the depression.
this shown in the Ewells family
If it's "Against the Law" But they think the government or whatever is going to enforce it,they don't really show it because of the Ewells.
And so it shows that they have more important thngs to worry about than kids going to school.
shes telling it like it was at the time. school wasnt a number one priority to families that had farms at that time.
they needed their children to stay home and help out. and most children couldnt afford college anyways so long as they learned to read enoug
enough* and write enough to make it through life, knowing your times tables wasnt that big a deal to them.
she says the nations education is no very good and is kind of pointless the way they run it for children.
I think she says that education (in the U.S.) is bad in the way that they want you to learn things one way even if you can come up with
I think she DOES think education is important for all. I think that if it was her choice she’d change some things.
In the Edwell’s case I bet she finds it a misfortune for the kids.
I think Harper Lee is making a mockery of U.S. education
She seems to think that learning goes beyond the classroom and that children should learn from their parents or through experience.
Haper Lee is showing that education wasn't as strict and that they were flexible with certain situations, and a lot of things they learn in
school won't help them in there everyday life so they don't find school to be and important thing.
these are all great answers and i could never say any one is wrong
i agree the most with Michelle and Tyler...she is poking fun at how we expect all people to learn the same; scout is scolded for wnating
wanting to read and write!! what does that tell you about the value of school? it's more valuable for her to be at home
very ironic...her tone is ironic and satirical...we'll get to that tomorrow
good work
she shows tht teachers dont fully understand their students and where they are coming from, which caused problems
she also shows how alot of ppl were forced to go to school like it was a punishment
I think that they care but its just that the turn away from that situation and let go as it was...
poking fun at the way we educate...we stifle their enthusiasm for learning
She thinks that school is a big part of a childs life.
harper lee plays a big part in school
She shows what the diff. opinions on school for diff. kinds of ppl. Like Scout wants to go to school to succeed, but other people dont
Harper Lee shows that she thinks the education in the us isn't all the same. Different parts of the country teach in different was and
it messes things up when it's that way
harper lee is saying that the educational system has gone down becuase if kids are just
going to the first day of school and if tyeachers cant handle a class then schools arent
harper lee is really pokeing fun at the systems disorganization at the time.
Education doesnt really matter at this point because, of the depression people need to think how to survive off the food and $ they have.
her tone to education in the book was education was to be learned in school not at home
i like all of your answers..don't forget about satire...she's poking fun or mocking the way we teach people
she wants things to be learned at school bot at home
she thinks that the u.s. system was lacking all of the high points it has today. it seems that it was often set aside for other things.
her ton is that the us doesn't care all you have to do is get the kid in on the first day.
she was saying tha an education is important if u want i to
i think at this time it isnt very important cause the charactues in the story dont seem very well educated
true...but think about scout WANTING to learn and getting in TROUBLE for it...what's that saying about the way school is??
discouraging people from learning unless it's the "right way"??
