muzzles aren't legal but at our house we kept telling our son who screams and cries a lot that we will not meet his needs unless he speaks

depends what he's screaming about... if its just tantrum (attention seeking) then don't reward with attention; reward goodness w/ attention

instead. Basic dog training technique, counterintuitive but breathtakingly effective. Cannot negotiate with a tantrum-thrower!

agrees with ignoring the screaming, as hard as it is-eventually child will get the message that it doesn't get them what they want

thanks shai, he's mildly autistic. maybe it's time to get stricter about it. I can't stand the noise level when he does it.
