Does your school change it's AUP every year? If not, when was the last time it did?

Minor revisions annually. They were wise and wrote it broadly. Resources as general concept, few specific tools named.

same as Bud's district. Last yr. changed two words to make things like blogs, wikis, etc. inclusive.
techtiger says

good question. District does the AUP and I know it hasn't been changed in years.
kdumont says

Our AUP is board policy, so all changes have to be voted on by the board, so change does not happen easily or often.

Our AUP was updated 2 years ago, I think. Here's what I hate though. District has gone to "opt out" policy. No longer have kids sign it.

LoriB why is that so bad? I mean, yes it should still be brought up and talked about, but shouldn't it be assumed that they'd follow?
LoriB says
I think having to sign it forces people to think about it and discuss it.
LoriB says
And with an opt out, how do you know if they are understanding & agreeing as opposed to not even knowing about it?
LoriB says
It isn't sent home yearly since it doesn't need signing. Parents are supposed to know they can find it and read it online.
LoriB says
but what is online isn't the user friendly version, just the official BOE policy version.
mmossman says

old school district was updated last summer and approved by BOE. Honestly, I wish they would have permiteed additional items.

I change the components relevant to my class, but the district AUP has not changed in at least four years

this is the first year we are not having them sign. Read a blog that made a great case for not having them sign. Will look for it.
