I really like your idea of seeds or gifting your time to a loved one! My all time favorite gift was from my mom for Christmas

in 1995--a photo album with pics of my grandmama that I'd never seen before, including ones of her and me when I was a baby, plus

copies of all her recipes-my Grandma and I were very close & she passed in Jan. 1993, so needless to say this gift is priceless to me!

my mom once gave me my grandfather's cufflinks turned into earrings.

on a smaller note, she once gave me an under-bed box full of different kinds of wrapping paper and ribbon. That was handy!

My wedding shower - a recipe box filled with a card with a favorite recipe from each person there...it 45 years ago and i still have it!
