wills the damn chicken to defrost so I can make the stinking marinade for it since I don't really want to eat it now that I took it out.

argues yeah but I always end up somehow cooking it a little bit and that just gets gross. Also points out - I hate touching raw chicken.
put it in the sink (or tub) in a big bowl with cool/cold running water going over it - make sure it's submerged.
(continues) or just put it in a bowl of cool water ans switch the water out ever 20 minutes or so.
