Got that same thing coming up in about 3 weeks! (But I don't have enough GPS units. Was disappointed by Garmn's response, but alas...)

What do you use for caches? And do teachers do more than one, or do you just program a GPS and tell them to follow the arrow? (What I do)

I use Kool-Aide containers saved from summer, and they contain the materials for our next project inside (taped shut).

I am using coffee cans and tupperware containers wrapped in brown duct tape. I did order a microcache (tiny metal container) but I think

did make mine relatively "easy." 1/2 mi walk, and not "too" hidden when they got there.
