well, a while back, there was a bit of a scandal that got washed over, see? The website was supposed to go out to tender, buuuut...
AshDonaldson

instead trashed the tender halfway thru for some kickbacks, and produced the biggest pile of shit website the Fed. Govt. has to offer

multiple level fly-out menus in every direction, frames within frames, unreadable type - it's all soooo good

I use it as the poster child of what NOT to do :-D

AshDonaldson it's a very complex website but have you seen the latest site? There's broken stuff on the homepage!

The ATO site is too complex. I can never find the most basic information. The HR Lady also has problems trying to find business information.
Infoholic says

The complexity of the ATO site is a probably a symptom of the overall complexity of tax legislation in Australia.

Also the online form completion and submission technology is rubbish. It took me ages to get it "installed" before I could even use it.

If I as a pretty tech savvy person had problems I pity Mr or Mrs average trying to use it.

I Fail all the time finding stuff on the web site, end up on the phone.. I don't think the IA is wrong just bad implementation

that some simple visual hierarchy and navigation re-design would go a helluva long way... Any Hiseriser's on here I can complain to??? ;-)

As far as I know the new portals from the Change Program get rolled out this year sometime. I'm not sure about the main site though.
AshDonaldson asks

if anyone's seen multi-level flyout navigation from the left, top, and below on any other site before?
AshDonaldson thinks

Tuna says

Oh they PAY!... doesn't help the portfolio, "oh I did this site" .. "oh that piece of shit.."
zuzu says

This remind me of the Schidt Sandwich analogy of consulting.

It does reduce your portfolio...
