there's a fucking switch here whose only purpose is to trip the breaker.

like...EVERYTHING works with that switch off. it turns nothing off. not even a recepticle

SO, i go to check out the attic. the fucking stair springs are so tight i can barely pull it down. once i have it down it doesn't even hit

the floor right. i step on it and it SWINGS. the braces that stop it at the angle it's supposed to be at arent in the right place and allow

those steps to swing BACKWARDS. that's like...super ultra mega fail.

plus there's just the godawful shit everywhere else here - terrible trim, terrible caulking, there are switch plates that are TWO plates

cut to fit the switch and then caulked together. WHO THE FUCK DOES THAT?!

but it bothers me even more because this IS a nice house. why the fuck bother halfassing it!?

er...family labor. i heard stories about the quality of their work - but fucking christ...unbelievable.

the thing is - they have the talent to make it to the end - they just slack the fuck off at the details. it drives me crazy. it's like

being in first place in a marathon...just stopping to tie your shoe at the end because you single knotted instead of double.

yeahhhhhh which is why i never actually depend on them for anything. i say i will let them know if we need it, but...

they cut corners when/where it counts all for some 'greater purpose' that really isn't worth it

yeah my parents' house is pretty nice overall but over the years we've uncovered similar stupid shortcuts the builders/previous owners took

like when we re-wallpapered the kitchen...we found out whoever did the last paper job didn't prime one of the walls before slapping the

paper on...they glued it straight to the drywall e_e

when we tore out this wall at the salon... the workmanship was great... but the base was full of starbucks cups/trash haha

oh those silly construction workers. i've lost tools in walls on the job if that counts!

it's just funny knowing how clean we keep this place... when there's garbage hidden in the actual structure

and yeah, i've lost screws during countless repairs....
