to know what is best for Web 2.0 apps- JS + AJAX, Ruby on Rails, or Python? Which is easiest to learn?

Javascript plus the AJAX technique. And Web 2.0 is no longer a trend that a lot of developers use. It's overused and stale now. :/

Yea, I used that for lack of a better term. I basically meant sites with a users and dynamic content such as this and Twitter, etc.

Erm—javascript is used in conjunction with a backend language such as ruby or python. You'll be hard-pressed to make a web app in only js.

mmm.. I'm thinking of rolling the same thing in ruby and python to see which I like better. I'm leaning towards Ruby...
