I have to admit, even though I'm missing a few necessary plugins, Chrome is starting to grow on me.

The funny thing is that @ least from outside, it isnt anything fundamentally different, other than carry Google's name & slightly snappier
vdub144

Actually, its probably more effective to do this through a hosts file and not in browser anyhow - google "hostfile"

most of what they've done is under the hood. Separating tabs into their own processes increases the stability of the entire browser

so if one tab crashes, theoretically your others should remain just fine.

I do like that. I like how clean and streamlined it is. How malleable the tabs are. And I actually dig the Application Shortcuts thing

have you seen the Task Manager feature? type about:memory in the omnibox
EdVentures

Or go to Page options ->Developer -> Task Manager for a pop out version

I came across a deal-breaker for me, though: It's a royal pain to use
del.icio.us
without bookmarklets or my CTRL-D shortcut.

rorowe
: open FF where you have the bookmarklet and chrome side by side. Drag the bookmarklet from FF to Chrome, and it appears to work!

: No java fix yet. But I'll let you know when I hear of one. (I'm using FF3 right now, but I am going back and forth.)

what's sad is I had to tell my tech/ IT people about this as they had not a clue what I was talking about

When Twitter was unblocked at our district, I thought, "Maybe they know about it now!" but no...it was just an accident they never fixed.

I was frustrated with Chrome since it would not let
Wordle.net
to operate correctly.
vdub144

Man I've heard that a LOT. How much are folks really using Wordle?!
dmantz7

Wordle is spreading like Plurk.
rorowe

I've "played" with Wordle. I don't know why I'd need to make a browser choice over it, though.

: I am not saying that I will not use Chrome because of the Wordle issue but there are probably other sites too that will not work.
rorowe

Oh, absolutely. Chrome, at the moment, is my "backup".
vdub144

How can Wordle spread like Plurk? This is a communications tool you return to 6-10x/day. You make 1 wordle, and maybe another next week?

I think Bookmarklets work... Just to make sure they're displayed by using ctrl b. Mine all seem to be working
rorowe

Yes. I did get
del.icio.us
bookmarklets working (thankfully!) I don't know if I need any others.
