[ffxiv] oc stuff but like. i describe the 'true' body of iosis as a lightless black ink a lot. but what if it wasn't. what if to those with soul sight, it was like the starriest night sky. nebulae and glitter.
because they are the styx! a river of souls! and to those who can't percieve it's just endless dark. but for those who can, they see the river for what it is - full of the starry lights of the underworld's souls
and nabriales, for the longest time, just sees that abyssal darkness. until they break off part of themself and offer it to him. he becomes like them - malleable in form, but also becomes part of the river. then he'd see them for what they are.
i guess it also hearkens back to how dionysus was one of those who was able to experience katabasis in greek myth, too
