i am a little sad across the spider-verse didn't win best animated bc it is so far the movie i thought was best that i saw out of 2023
but tbf i cannot be at all mad that boy and the heron won and i haven't seen it yet so it is very possibly better
also low-key am just hoping that oppenheimer doesn't win best picture solely because i find christopher nolan Deeply Annoying these days
mr. "my movies are badly audio mixed to protect my artistic integrity" well i have audio processing issues chris!!!
good news though, I did see at least one thing that won an oscar so far
which is anatomy of a fall which was, in fact, tremendous
godzilla minus one won best visuals!!!
i forgot how much i cared about that
oh damn This year honestly had good animated movies. I don't keep up anymore i heard good things about boy and the heron though so I'm sure it was deserved
yeah i mean it's miyazaki if anyone is gonna win best animated picture....
and across the spider-verse does suffer from feeling like only the first half of a movie
a really tremendous one but i do not begrudge anyone that didn't like the ending
also quietly relieved that "i'm just ken" didn't win best song
like it's a good song but come on now
maybe the least "relevant" thing from barbie that it could win an award for
Boy and the Heron was devastating for me emotionally but I saw it less than a month after the death soooooooooo
I REALLY was recommending it when it was still in theaters because it was very good
also why is it that the Barbie movie was recommended for oscars for ken-centric things???
