Playing a Shadar-Kai Spore Druid with an Acolyte background to the Raven Queen aaaaaaaaaand I love her??? lmao

I am by far the most useless party member. I spend most fights hovering near things about to die just so I can spore them into my minions.

We had a large boss fight where I got extremely beat up and I walked away with 6 zombie besties and called it a win for myself

The DM has humored me very well and the party members are very do-good and we nearly killed each other at first because ~oh no necromancy~

And now they think the necromancing druid is precious and needs to be protected and it's all very strange but I am here for it

Also, her name has meant there have been many monologues of "This situation is a mess" And I respond "Huh? What'd I do?" no no not you. "aw "

Anyway, I joined this party late. Very late. Level 8 late. And despite 2 paladins of the utmost goodness and a literally just ALL LAWFUL GOOD weirdos

I feel like the goth kid who stumbled into a sparkles and rainbows birthday party

But it's working...???

Anyway, go play spore druid. It's fun and weird lol

look in my many years playing d&d, high-concept-figure-out-usefulness-later is far more fun than power gaming my numbers perfectly

They truly are much more fun. This group is very number driven with constant rolls into the 100s and I'm over here giggling I did 6 necrotic because the boss walked into my halo range lol

Also, once the boss was downed I 100% beelined it to animate dead on her. She's my prize to the Raven Queen.

I had 2 hp and had to briefly not beeline to healing word a downed companion (2 were down but I only saw the one oops) but I had to get my prize stat.

(I'm also biased I have a dice curse. I built a character in Changeling the Lost who without any additional boosts I was rolling like 14 dice every time for a specific skill. if I got at least 3 successes it was an incredible win for me. I regularly biffed rolls with no successes.)

I completely understand this lol I rotate several dice sets every session if I feel like they soured on me
