Dungeon Meshi is sooooooo good I haven’t kept up with the anime and still need to read the last handful of volumes of the manga but Ryoko Kui’s character design is SO amazing even for background characters

There’s so much care and warmth in all of them

Character design and worldbuilding are two of her big strengths.

And yeah the animation is really good too. Trigger animated dunmeshi is like a dream come true frfr I wish I had easy access to my parents Netflix account lol

one of the things I'm finding I enjoy about the designs is that they are simple and the characters look, for lack of a better word, realistic? no one is a muscle bound himbo or a stick with melons slapped on. they look like they realistically exist in this world with natural body proportions
