[AI bullshit] side-eyes H&R Block website
I procrastinated until the last minute and am filing my taxes now on the H&R Block website like I always do
they have a new addition to the site this year...
they added an AI chat bot to answer your tax questions
...
I'm sure that couldn't possibly go terribly wrong

it'd be enough to make me look for a different tax prep service if I hadn't waited to the last minute and used HR block because that's who I always used and they import information from previous years to speed the whole thing up

i want to say... maybe it just does like the easy auto response questions ... sort of like a faq
there are definitely some common tax questions that can be automated
i pray it doesn't try to answer personal specific inquiries

anyway, my taxes are done. Took me about an hour.
The thing is, even if it’s only supposed to answer simple tax questions, I’ve seen enough examples of these bots to know that they could even get that seriously wrong
