[d&d] I know it doesn’t work mechanically in most versions of the game, but I think a lot of sorcerers in D&D would become wizards

A sorcerer wizard is like an Elon Musk type who firmly believes that he gets magic because he is superior and therefore is convinced he’d make a great wizard

And doesn’t have the intelligence to actually be that but has the charisma to convince others that he’s the best wizard ever and anyone who says different is just jealous

and guessing which spells are natural ability and which are fire and forgets would be a fun complication for dealing with a villain like that

also another idea could be someone who just isn't satisfied with their natural gifts and wants more or different ones from what they have
