i am so curious what their "step by step" screenshots are
because this is very definitely traced
It blows me away that are so many commenters stepping in to defend this doofus
This is fucking embarassing
"i didn't trace! see, here's my proof!"
- detailed outlines on a blank white canvas
bro if you want to prove it's not a trace POST YOUR SKETCH LAYER
here is more "proof" they shared that they don't trace, it is their current commission:
people are paying money for this
i feel really bad for those people
do they even understand how suspicious it is that they won't post their sketch layer
nobody draws the detailed clean linework right off the dome
ninjarobotclone: honestly I wouldn't put it past this person to go back and fake a sketch layer
like draw sketches over the clean linework on a separate layer and claim that is the original layer
just because of the audacity of trying to pass off that original as original
you can tell one parts they actually did on their own because the understanding of shading and anatomy is so completely different
yeah i'm sure they would if confronted about it
that hand around his neck, the big greyish blob that is her clothes
the fact that there are actual lines denoting where the breasts and forearm are and yet there's not a single black line on astarion
even the hand on his throat is pretty damn rough. i'm canonblind but i'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that this character isn't supposed to have 6 fingers on her left hand
they're claiming one of those is the thumb
again, VERY noticeable different in the understanding of anatomy between Astarion and this Tav
i feel bad for the commissioner, this is such an insulting thing to get back for your money
As an artist who has done commissions, this "artist" could have at least claimed something like "sorry I deleted my sketch layer because that's part of my process and didn't take a screenshot" because that would have been marginally more believable (if also easily disprovable if they don't provide examples of older work showing rougher lines).
Also I'm so morbidly curious if they have a gallery I can go point and laugh at...
(Though I will say I did at a glance assume that re: the hand on the throat, the finger farthest from the viewer was the thumb.)
i can tell that it's supposed to be a thumb but it is simply not in the correct place to be one
Yeah, looking closer at it now, it's definitely wonky; it just wasn't what immediately jumped out at me scanning over it at first.
At least the shading isn't half bad.
