my legal name change went through!!!!!!

good fucking bye to that fussy-ass southern belle name i was born with, i now have a respectable man name lmao

(my middle name is still feminine but it's irish so it's not like the vast majority of people are going to clock "that's a girl name")

and now story: i picked up my diploma the other day and i got home and my wife handed me the name change certificate

i asked while picking up the diploma if it could be reissued in a new name because i was in the process of a name change, and she was like yeah no problem, there might be a small fee to reprint it and we need official documentation but you can for sure get the new one

so i walked in the NEXT DAY holding the portfolio she'd given me the diploma in and the receptionist was giving me this look like "this cannot possibly be what i think it is"

CONGRATS!

and i walked up to the desk and said "so, this is gonna be hilarious" while flipping open the portfolio, into which i had tucked the certificate

and she goes "oh NO"
