I installed a rain barrel yesterday!
expected to field test it today with forecast all day thunderstorms
good job weather guys I hate all of you right now
anyway aside from being unsure if any of my seeds took, my garden is poppin
Solidago spread after 4 years
downy yellow violet spread everywhere
wild geranium is a bush, it's not supposed to do that
I have dug up 3 pots' worth of native clematis to gift to family and there is MORE
(it was growing into the electrical box and through the AC unit so uh)
trying to thin the strawberries and cut runners so they'll fruit instead but they're so out of control wtf
the shiso has self-seeded everywhere oh god did I accidentally introduce an invasive oh no
but my best news is, after 10 years I finally had an oxeye daisy self-sow in my prairie! I want it! I need it! It's here!
now if I can get the trifecta with white campion and bastard toadflax I'll be perfect
I need to really get on with actual planting prep some... year. Maybe native grass reintroduction, too?
some year is right, I'm still fiddling and we've been here 10 years
and in further garden news, some lil old ladies were having a plant sale for their sorority (no lie) so I bought some wild ginger and more jackinthepulpits and a dogwood
I was a fool to not plan for the dogwood but I think it just needs to go in the sunny spot near the rain barrel. maybe it can shade the black rain barrel so I'm not watering with boiling water lmfao
Uh, paint the barrel maybe?
it's UV-treated plastic, not even plastic-formulated paint will stick
