xypherzx: I'm not sure where Takara (who developed the game the game) got the idea but I can guess it came from the Chinese manga adaptation of KOF 96 because back then I was able to read some of the comics of it

and one interesting scene there is someone taught them to use "Zenith Power" to have a fighting chance against Goenitz. And those characters are Terry, Ryo, Robert and Athena... who are also affected from the secret code of the said game.

Terry:
- Burn Knuckle is now a 11 hit move-- that can be special / super cancelled
- Rising Tackle has 12 hits (originally 7)
Ryo and Robert:
- their shouryuken is now 12 hits (imagine Shinryuuken )
Athena:
- Her Shining Crystal Bit can charge into a SPIRIT BOMB (but HARD MODE CPU can deflect it with just a weak punch)

To think this is all from a GB game. The power up mechanic actually sounds interesting especially the enhanced move changes.

xypherzx: since it's a GB game, it has limited number of characters. The power up gimmick only applies to certain characters. Surprisingly, Kyo doesn't have one despite even an MC

The only completed team is the Boss Team (Geese, Krauser and Mr. Big). And of course, secret characters (Orochi Iori, Orochi Leona, Goenitz, Maki Kagura and Mr. Karate)

That's quite a boss and secret character lineup there. And I noticed that the ones who got power up are the ones who star in their own games before KOF debut xD
