Is it one of those things where you should just + as much stuff as possible or is it like Pandora was where doing that would actually kinda lock you out of hearing new music
And does following artists do anything or is that just to like, see when they have new stuff?
I do use Spotify but I obsess over the same songs sooooo idk 🤷🏼♀️ but they do have this DJ thing that mixes in new stuff
ok yeah, I'm starting to figure out how this works... looks like everything gets added to your Likes playlist and you can just listen to that like a normal song library?
And make playlists off that and stuff
it suggests new songs to me often so hopefully it's what you're looking for
I go "no plz hits of 2002 again thx"
You can used your liked songs, or you can make a daily/general playlist and just add whatever you want to that!
Then from there, you can turn in 'smart shuffle' (the shuffle icon with sparkes next to it - you get it by clicking shuffle a couple of times) and that'll add songs it thinks you'll like to that playlist!
If you don't like them, just turn smart shuffle off and they disappear
You can also add 'Your daily list' to your home screen, which spotify generates and updates throughout the day (and gives it fun names)

This is mine for the next few hours
But yeah, just add songs/follow artists you like (this means you'll get notified when they drop new stuff) and that'll help too!
You can pin up to 6 playlists or album to your home screen for easy access - mine again here;
Byear is my daily/general, and I have Ghost for just Ghost songs if I'm in that kinda mood etc - but yeah, you can make as many playlists as you like!
And if you drag a song to the right, it'll add to your queue
There's a discover weekly playlist you can like that updates every monday based on what you listen to if you want new songs every week.
I usually use it to make character playlists or themed playlists for the vibes, following artists and stuff gives you updates on new releases and concerts when they tour, you can follow the release radar playlist too
This is all good info, thank you friends!!
I will be listening to music from this decade in no time
