So this is a joint venture between the Scrooge comics crew and the Marvel comics crew and MY GOD IT SHOWS (complimentary). The thing is all over a Scrooge story but like, the edges have all been sharpened to a fine point, a double-edged blade to cut unsavory foe or unwary friend

Each little chapter (each of which is a few pages long) is drawn by a different artist from the Italian comics, exploding OUT OF THE GATE by the artist who drew the Moby Dick adaptation seen here

I'm not going to recount the whole plot here, but the multiverse thing being canon to Duck comics already and used BEAUTIFULLY here, pulling in not only Scrooges from other timelines but also completely different histories

Each chapter is BEAUTIFUL, the writing is incredible, and just. GOD. I think I have a new (modern) favorite Uncle $crooge story

So now come in the actual spoilers, as I share some favorite panels and pages from across the story

I will say I didn't care for the plot (I think the concept was great, but would have been better if it was multiple issues, like 3 or 4, as it felt rushed) but the art is simply fantastic and something to marvel over. (hohoho.)

YEAH that's what Max and I were thinking too, that it was too rushed and could've been better spread out. But I fully admit I'm biased toward this story, I have a very special place in my heart for "Multiversal Scrooge who tangles with a dark magic shadow of himself and wins through family being strong" because if that isn't a PSL version I've been

Panels starting with this one because just, the pose, the cold hard treasure around him, it's such a beautiful and horrific (in its own way) set piece

The idea that in that world he pretty defeated magica so soundly she's barely a blip on his radar anymore

YEAH NO just a vague mention at best, plus the implication that he's killed multiple other Scrooges? Like, holy shit

I LOVE THESE TWO PAGES. The design of Scrooge-Above-All is so peak, I love the armor and weaponry made out of Dimes

Like, at least OG Scrooge lets her live to fight another day, and sometimes even implies he enjoys the adventure she gives him - what did this man to do her. weh. leave my witch bitch alone.

Yeah no this Scrooge is, at this point, a vile, bitter, broken man

Emphasis on vile. He doesn't just want to steal from the other Scrooges. He wants them to suffer

GOD YEAH NO, RIGHT? The implications of this man leaving so many broken universes in his wake

Like, they say they fix everything at the end so time travel might've been involved? (/SHRUG this is a Scroogeverse thing after all) BUT STILL

(Naturally, there has been a story where Magica went to other universes to try and recruit other Magicas in her latest scheme - IIRC, it went kaput because at least one Magica was like 'nah me and scrooge are partners now ' and the others just straight up betrayed her, and it was made clear there is no universe in which magica wins)

Something something "family is the greatest adventure" etcetc

Okay no but really Donald(s) being the unbeatable calvary was PERFECT, there is no Donald without Scrooge and there is, quite literally, no Scrooge without Donald

Of course, it just steeled OG Magica's resolve, in that I WILL BE THE ONE WHO WINS, I'LL DEFY DESTINY but it was played off less as 'heroic resolve and more like 'magica is a loony and doesn't know how to quit lulz'

Magica and Scrooge, duelling until the literal heat death of the universe, I love it X3

but hell yeah i love how Evil Scrooge's eyes are kind of going all nutty there, love those kinda details

So man yeah, I just. It was rushed maybe if the physical issue didn't also have to accommodate Christmas on Bear Mountain, I mean I GET IT but still and a little clumsy, and I'm biased to all hell because I was just like, "That's the Scrooge I RP!" even PSL aside, but I loved it.
