This game came out for early access LAST TUESDAY. So all of this happened in like a week lol

So I joined an RP clan

Just before release

The leader is from RedM RP and that place sounds like a wild bunch of drama. But he said he had sold his company which contained those servers and was moving on. He just wanted to RP with his friends and chill.

So with RedM they are used to voice proximity for RP in game, but Pax does not have that yet. Everything needs to be text. So he kinda wanted to do it in discord, but all of us are coming from different backgrounds

Not everyone wants to voice their character and you have some gender discrepancies and he insisted that you play the gender you are to avoid this

....oh dear

Also, we have a player who is literally deaf, they would be excluded from things entirely but he really, really hates how slow text is

So what actually ends up happening is we all really like each other, get along AMAZING. We're chatting in voice chat and RPing in text in-game

Some people, like the leader of the clan just can't handle this form of multi-task. He deafens most times so he can focus and type. Which is totally fair

Naturally, we all get along

So someone will be like "I'm bored" and another "Oh, wanna join me with this dungeon?" "Sure!"

And then a large group would form and dungeon delve just like that but it is planned in voice chat

Now, not everyone joins voice chat and last Thursday I got a message from someone who usually doesn't do vc asking to dungeon delve since they heard magic items are there

I told said person "Oh, we do that a lot, you should join us. I think we already have the mats if you need something in particular??"

Well, they got upset. Big FOMO

Oh no

I don't have time to join my friends in dungeons a lot it's just how it goes sometimes

So I told them, Hey, why don't you tell the leader that we should do some scheduled raids so that you can join in consistently with some of them

YEAH It's. A 24/7 serviced game and people are in wildly different timezones even with 3 servers in 3 different places

So the individual tells the leader

And I'll come back to that result in a momet

MEANWHILE

The game is in Early Access and in a rather Alpha stage. THERE IS SO MUCH but it is definitely Alpha

So one thing that needs desperate help are permissions

So you have 3 options when you place a plot: Public (anyone), Clan (only members of the clan) and Private (just you)

Depending on this setting people can build, destroy and change things on that plot or not

Do we see where this is going

So one thing the clan was a stickler about is making every plot "Clan" so everyone can use anyone's stuff

Oh.... Oh no...

Needless to say, someone logged in last weekend to find 4 workbenches that take HOURS to craft things (you go afk, it's not that bad. But time gates, hello)

All of their contents and the benches themselves had disappeared

I have been in too many FCs where they had to restrict access to stuff to prevent people from stealing it all, I am so worried

The guy reports it to the leader

But f

The leader says "Well, it's RP. Maybe someone is RPing a thief."

OKAY BUT CONSENT??? HELLO????

....uh what

Yeah, fucking WILD

So this alongside the earlier complaint does lead to a LARGE RULES posting from the leader guy

Look I could believe that if they either gave it back or just stole little things, not crafting benches

No more OOC voice chat.
Voice chats need to be IC.
No planning outside of a schedule.

Look out for thieves, but keep your plots to Clan

IT'S. YA. So there was a LOT of pushback

This sounds. Restrictive.

Many disagreed, a lot sounded alarms but were willing to negotiate

He backtracks to call them guidelines but in the fray of all that, one member says "This is ridiculous, I'm out"

AND HE IMMEDIATELY GOT KICKED

So here's why that's a problem

1. He wanted to RP a departure. He's a wanderer type, wanted to mesh it into his story. This kind of made that impossible or very difficult

2. and more importantly. The plot permissions for his plots were set to CLAN but he is not in a Clan so the system doesn't think the plots are his!!

The way buying early access works is you buy it based on number of plots, you get some other nice recipes and things but the plots are the main cash sink for tiered purchases

That's horrible

Also sets a BAD precedent in that if someone gets kicked the plots revert to the clan, that's a nasty exploit

I mean, I don't think he knew that the system would do that when he kicked someone

I just hope they fix it

But it's just the brash and impulsive behavior that's like BIG RED FLAGS

And give that guy his land back

Oh for sure, kicking people just because they don't like your rules

So the guy has to beg to rejoin. I'm bullying the leader to let him back in so he can reclaim his plots

It takes 30 min but he rejoins. But the leader guy is like I'll only let you in when I can see you because he's convinced the guy leaving means to do harm or steal or whatever

I was ready to lecture him. I called him childish and well. PROBABLY SHOULDN'T HAVE KICKED the hot kettle but

He was being a child. Someone needed to say it

So I get yelled out in vc and I'm just huffing and puffing and quiet after that

I help the guy who is leaving, trying to look up clans he can join

And I realize

YEAH this ain't it. So I look for clans for me too

What happened to being chill with people rping thievery

ALAS

So I left in the middle of night. I dropped everything. Left in my birthday suit, basically

I gave the smith back the armor he made for me, I gave herbs to the other alchemists, I have tonics to the tavern to hand out. I left with just my character

Rofl. Did you at least get your land back

YES the main reason I left under the darkness of night!

So I told 3 people and that's it

I said Good night in vc and got my butt to the map gate and then dropped clan

So the clan I joined is really really chill so far

They were happy to take me in and initially wanted to contact the leader before I left to join them but I begged them not to, explained what happened andddddddddd

THEY REPORTED THE LEADER lmao

So one of the guys in this new clan is a streamer and works with the content creator program so he knows the devs

And he just speed dialed the guy to say what happened

No idea what's come of that but I didn't give names, just that it had happened because I was worried

So fast-forward...

The day after I left I got messages from maybe 10 different ex-clan members

Why'd you leave! What happened!

To avoid kicking up more drama I answer vaguely and avoid blame

But 2 of them are like "You right, we're out"

So they left yesterday too

A 3rd messages "Yep, I'm done". He's leaving tonight

So we'll be having 5 of them joining this clan I found

BUT FOR THE 3rd guy, the guy who had his benches stolen, the leader has been BLAMING HIM

Crying wolf

Stirring drama

Amazing

And every time someone has left he claims the 3rd guy's name gets brought up so he blames the 3rd guy for everyone leaving!!

WHAT THE HECK.

I wonder if the leader stole them
