Win11's MS scanner is good enough now.

Also it doesn't rip open new holes like all the other virus scanners do.

I'm going to have to look for an alternative now. Ugh, thanks for sharing.

Just uninstall it and then activate the default scanner. M$ has put a lot of work into it.

ye windows defender is honestly good enough for day to day surfing, and even then, free anti-virus like AVG will do the job fine if you want something a bit extra. you don't need to pay for anti-virus

TwiceBlessed: Why are you not using Win11?

Because I like Windows 10

Win11 is all the same. Just the Settings/Configs are a bit more in the new style now, too.

You do not need to relearn.

Yeah, these days there is really no need for anything more than that. If you're visiting potentially sketchy sites then you'll want to have something like NoScript in your browser but otherwise Windows Defender does the job just fine

Also Google search already blocks a lot of sites they found malicious, that also helps.

we had to kill AVG a few years back because it was using massive amounts of RAM at all times, windefender + superantispyware does fine for me

windows 11 is basically 10 once you lobotomize it and force it to stop trying to put ads and tracking everywhere also, yeah, i had zero adjustment period needed

windows defender comes with windows 10 and above, if you're sticking with windows 10 then you should be good.
