yall think the reason garp is pressuring to save koby rn is because he saw ace died before his eyes and he doesn't want that happening to his kids (grankids) ever again bc he consinders helmeppo and koby his grandkids
like yeah. garp chose his job over his grandkid in marineford and he sucks for that. but he still grieved over ace and like.
he trained koby himself. he saw luffy and knows luffy can defend himself and that he has his crew to back him up. koby is backed up by marines and he's in enemy territory rn, so ofc he'd panic because what happened to ace (imprisonment then execution) could happen to koby
people forget old people have trauma as well
like yes !! garp sucks !!! but i think the parallel between koby and ace got severely overlooked here
ion think people have realised how much marineford traumatised garp bruh
bc of marineford, garp failed his promise to roger, he failed his grandkid, he failed as a grandfather and only won as a marine and he realised right then and there that the life he gave to the marines will never help him out because at the end of the day, he lost nearly everything he had to the marines
