The book refers to him almost exclusively as that “other name”

I know the book is about 20 years old but I feel like that’s bad even for then

I can’t believe I forgot about him

I have not gone back and reread these books

What’s funny is that before I started reading these novels, I was reading a bunch of the Raymond Chandler detective novels from the 1930’s and 40’s

And like, the sexism and racism obviously is an issue there too but like you kind of expect it a bit in works from 80+ years ago

I think Butcher in the early 2000s is almost exactly as sexist and casually racist and Chandler is in the 1930s

Anyway, I’m feeling much less bad now about consuming the Dresden books 100% via piracy
