Vance again said immigrants in Ohio are eating cats in an interview airing Sunday on "Meet the Press," contending "constituents are seeing it with their own eyes."

Vance said he had heard the rumors "firsthand from multiple constituents" who had "made 911 calls a month ago, a year ago."
He added: "I trust my constituents more than I do the American media that has shown no interest in what has happened in Springfield until we started sharing cat memes on the internet."
Dayton Police Chief Kamran Afzal said in a statement, "We stand by our immigrant community and there is no evidence to even remotely suggest that any group, including our immigrant community, is engaged in eating pets. Seeing politicians or other individuals use outlandish information..."
The county's Courts, Public Safety and Infrastructure Development Committee unanimously passed a resolution on the topic earlier this month, and it will appear before the full board Monday, Sept. 23.
"Border Czar Kamala Harris has permitted millions of illegal immigrants to cross our borders, and whereas, though largely denied and underreported by major media organizations,"
these illegal immigrants have contributed to an increase in crime, and whereas, this increased criminal activity is not just isolated to southern border states ... ” the resolution reads.
Officials may soon vote to monitor all contact between undocumented immigrants and the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.
